  • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

9 am PT/10 am MT/11 am CT/12 pm ET/1 pm AT

In this Next Steps workshop, we will start with a brief review of the April 6th Introductory Workshop presented by Cheryl McFarlane. Then we will explore deeper aspects of bell trees, including assembly and support, performing on the bell tree, rehearsal techniques, bell tree performance logistics that need to be considered, and processionals and other uses for bell trees.  Our time will conclude with some time for Q&A.

heather nicholson: heather first picked up handbells in 1992, and rang her first solo on Christmas Eve 1997. Since then, she has performed and taught across Canada and the United States. Her first encounter with bell trees was in July 2001, and her first bell tree performance was 4 ½ months later.  heather has appeared on television three times, has three solo handbell arrangements in publication (two of which are all or partly for bell tree), and has produced a CD of solo and ensemble handbell music. She has helped to organize many local, provincial, national and international handbell events. While currently homeless, heather has been a founding member of four different handbell choirs and ensembles.  heather has served as the OGEHR newsletter editor, and she currently serves as the OGEHR Central East Area Representative. Over the years, heather has performed in a barn, in a castle, in Nashville, on a cruise ship, at Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall, and at the top of Toronto’s CN Tower.
