Camille Ream

Camille Ream loves both ringing and directing handbells!  She is passionate about advancing the art of handbell ringing across Canada.  She is always eager to help ringers, no matter their age or ability, to make the best music possible. She is very excited to be one of the directors for the upcoming Handbell Musicians of Canada event, “Canada Rings!”.

Camille has attended multiple International Handbell Symposia culminating in being honored to be the Canadian Director at the 2018 IHS in Cairns, Australia. She partnered with Susan Galloway as a clinician at the 2016 IHS in Vancouver, Canada. Other IHS events included ringing in 1992 Edmonton, Canada, in 1996 Albuquerque, USA and in 2000 Birmingham, England.

Camille loves directing handbell choirs and has honed her skills by attending numerous Conducting Master Classes with Dr William Payn.  Camille has also rung in multiple Distinctly Bronze ringing events in USA - both DB east and DB west.

Camille was one of the founding members of the Classic Bronze Handbell Festival held biannually in Alberta since 2007. The Copper ringing stream started in 2017 with Camille as the first director.

Camille owned Handbells Etc (also the Canadian Malmark Representative) with Susan Galloway from 1995 through 2024. In conjunction with the Handbell Etc. business, Camille led handbell workshops in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario as well as at teacher conventions and music conferences.

Camille started the United in Bronze handbell choir in St. Albert, Alberta and is currently directing Resounding Joy Handbell Choir at First United Church in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. In addition to ringing for worship, Resounding Joy performs at a variety of community events and venues.

Saturday, November 7 Workshop for All Ringers/Directors:

Ringing Musically

Ringing handbells musically will move you and your choir from being average to excellent! This hands-on session will give you an opportunity to learn ways to ring handbells more musically and utilize various handbell techniques to enhance the musicality of your performances.
